Alongside the other activities and events offered by the Law Society, we also run a Netball and a Football team, both of which been very successful, despite both being very recent additions to the Society. Both teams now play in formal leagues and cup competitions at the University, as well as playing friendlies against some of Lancaster’s College teams, and teams from other Universities and law firms across the country. Another great example of our range of competition is the annual tournament at Manchester University, run by Magic Circle law firm Freshfields, in which we are hoping to take part for the third time in this coming year.
As mentioned above, despite the teams being in their infancy, they have already grown into a great environment for members to take a break from their studies and relax with like-minded people. There is a great atmosphere within both teams and this has translated into success on the pitch and court, making it all the more enjoyable for the players. Our biggest goal for the next season is to have even more members participating and enjoying sport.
This year’s sports trials will be taking place:
- Netball – Sunday 7th October 7pm-8pm, Netball Courts Management School
- Football – Tuesday 9th October 7pm-8pm, Astro 2
