In addition to its academic side, the Law Society runs a number of social events both on and off campus. These events provide a great way to interact and befriend fellow students with an interest in law.
The first social of the year will be the Ice Breaker social (16 October, Grizedale Bar, 8pm); this gives new students the opportunity to meet fellow first years as well as older students involved in the society.
Many other socials will run throughout the year, which this year includes a cocktail masterclass, a tapas and tequila night and joint socials with a number of other academic societies.
All our socials are open to both non-drinkers and drinkers a like and a number of sober events will also be run to encourage inclusivity.
The main social event of the year will be the infamous Law Ball. This is a fantastic way for students to celebrate the end of the academic year in style before exam season begins. This year’s theme is yet to be revealed.
The final social event run by the Law Society is the annual trip abroad. This year’s trip will be to Prague and students will be able to register interest for this from the Fresher’s Fair onwards. Full information on upcoming events will be distributed through the society Facebook page and weekly newsletter, so don’t forget to like the page and check your inbox regularly.
