Who are We?
Lancaster University Law Society, named Society of the Year 2013, is a student run society for anyone with an interest in working within the legal profession not just for those studying a law degree. Our aim is to give our members the information and skills they need to go on and be successful within the legal profession.
We have a number of opportunities available throughout the year designed to allow you to find out all the information you need to know to make an informed decision about entering the legal profession. We host an annual Law Fair and Careers Dinner and through the year a number of talks and seminars from leading UK Law Firms and practitioners. We also run a number of competitions designed to help you to improve the key skills required to be a successful lawyer, ranging from Mooting to Negotiation. In addition to this we have a number of pro-bono opportunities which give you the chance to put any legal skills you may develop into practice in the local community.
We also hold regular social events throughout the year, open to any member of the society, including a trip abroad, an annual Law Ball and nights out in various nearby cities. In addition we have both netball and football teams for those of you who are interested in sport . These teams participate in the internal University leagues as well as in external competitions against other Law Societies and Law Firms.
